Moraira, Pearl of the Costa Blanca!
Located in the 'Comunidad Valenciana', in the northeast of the province of Alicante. Famous for its Mediterranean sea-climate with mild temperatures all year round, beaches with crystal clear water and green surroundings. It is hard to imagine that Moraira only two decades ago used to be a small fishing village and nowadays it has turned into a well-known seaside village with many facilities and services, as well as a cozy historical city-center full of restaurants and shops. Moraira has no high-rise buildings, this in order to preserve its charms of the authentic village center. In the area around the center of Moraira we find beautiful residential areas and urbanizations accompanied by many facilities such as golf courses, tennis courts, restaurants, supermarkets, shopping malls etc. Because of its mild and sunny climate, Moraira, and the entire Costa Blanca, attracts national and international tourism. Moraira has many attractions that are well worth a visit.
The authentic little castle next to the main sandy beach of Moraira. It was built in the eighteenth century and served as protection against attacks by pirates from the sea. The castle was restored in the early 80's and from that time weddings and gatherings can also be celebrated at this unique spot with mediterranean sea views.
The 'lookout' tower on the east cape, 'Cap d'Or', a symbol of vigilance that had to protect the population from attacks by the Berbers. A beautiful walk/hike through protected area makes a visit to the ´Torre de Cap d'Or´ well worth visiting!
In addition to the lovely climate and beautiful surroundings, gastronomy is also a strong point of Moraira. The traditional Mediterranean and international cuisine accompanied by the fine wines from the region will make every meal unforgettable.
Sports activities will not be lacking, as well as golf courses and tennis courts, sports such as mountain biking, cycling, climbing, horse riding, diving, snorkeling, sailing etc. are practiced in large numbers.
